Agility PR Solutions does not publish a price. Its plans page asks you to speak to an expert, and its standard billing cycle is annual.1 Media List puts the price on the page. Basic is $99 a month, and you can start the same day without a call.
The two tools also do different jobs inside AI assistants. The Media List MCP server searches journalist and creator contacts. Agility's MCP connector works with your media coverage data.4

Agility does not say. Its plans page offers four modules. These are Media Relations, Media Monitoring, Media Intelligence and Social Listening, and you can buy them alone or together.1 To see a number, you fill in a form and wait for a call.
Agility does describe where it sits. Its own comparison page says its pricing is "comparable to both Meltwater and Cision".3 Meltwater's blog puts its own Starter plan at $10,000 a year.14 Vendr reports a Cision median of $12,625 a year.18 Those are not Agility prices. They are the two benchmarks Agility names.
A Reddit user in May 2025 called Agility "usually a bit cheaper than Cision/Meltwater".9 Billing is annual by default, though Agility says it can accommodate other frequencies. It bills in US dollars, Canadian dollars and pounds.1

The MCP difference, in plain words
Both companies let Claude and other AI assistants connect to their data through MCP. What the assistant can reach is not the same.
Agility says its connector "links Claude and other MCP-compatible assistants directly to your Agility account". Its API page describes coverage search and summaries.4 That helps you ask an assistant how a launch played in the press.
The Media List MCP server reaches the contact database. You can ask an assistant to find business reporters in Ohio, or podcasts about personal finance, and it searches Media List for you. The read-only API does the same for your own scripts and tools.
The best Agility PR alternatives
Media List
Best for founders, solo publicists and small agencies that want a list today.
Basic is $99 a month with 2,500 exports. Professional is $399 with 10,000 exports, 3 seats and campaigns with follow-ups. Scale is $999 with 10 seats and private-label reports for clients.
You can filter to verified emails, and a bounced export is replaced at no cost. Plans are monthly and you can cancel anytime from your billing page.
Meltwater
Best for brands that need listening across news and social.
Meltwater's blog says Starter starts from $10,000 a year.14 Contracts renew unless you cancel at least 60 days before the term ends.23
It beats Media List on monitoring and listening by a wide margin. For a team that only wants the media list, it is a large bill for one feature.
Cision
Best for big comms teams that also want wire distribution.
Cision shows a quote form, not prices.17 Vendr reports a median of $12,625 a year, and Cision's agreement says fees are invoiced yearly in advance and are non-cancellable.1824
It beats Media List on global reach and distribution. Agility says its own pricing is comparable to both Cision and Meltwater.3
Muck Rack
Best for agencies that pitch national US press every day.
No public price.15 A March 2026 Reddit buyer reported about $4,400 a year for one seat, and Vendr puts the median at $13,000 a year.1625
A Reddit user in December 2025 wrote that an AI assistant told them Agility is the closest match to Muck Rack's directory.11 Muck Rack still wins on US journalist depth.
Semrush AI PR Toolkit
Best for teams already inside Semrush.
Plans are $149, $279 and $499 a month, and they are on Semrush's help pages.19 Exports are capped at 0, 150 and 500 a month.20
It beats Media List on monitoring and AI drafting at a public price. Media List gives more exports for less.
Prezly
Best for teams that publish news on a branded newsroom.
Essential is $120 a month billed yearly, with a 14-day trial and no card.21
Prezly holds the contacts you bring and does not sell a database. You can use it alongside Media List, which finds those contacts.
JournoFinder
Best for solo users who want journalist request alerts next to a database.
It costs $189 a month, or $119 a month billed yearly.22 Its free tier covers request search and alerts only.
Its trial hides contact info. JournoFinder does not publish an export allowance, so we cannot compare cost per contact.

What a year costs, two examples
Agility gives no price, so we cannot add up its side. Here is what we can show, and what to ask Agility for.
A solo publicist
- Media List Basic is $99 a month with 2,500 exports. Pay yearly and you pay for 10 months instead of 12.
- For Agility, ask for a written quote that names the modules, the seat count and the export limit. Ask whether the price changes at renewal.
- For scale, Agility compares its pricing to Meltwater and Cision.3 Meltwater's own Starter floor is $10,000 a year.14
A 3-person agency
- Media List Professional is $399 a month with 3 seats and 10,000 exports. Scale is $999 with 10 seats.
- For Agility, seat pricing is not published. Ask how many users the quote covers and what a fourth user costs.
- If you also need monitoring, ask for it as a separate line in the quote, so you can see what the database alone costs.
What buyers say about Agility PR
- "Their customer service is kickass too." (Reddit, September 2026)10
- "They have a really robust platform that includes media data base as well as reporting and monitoring." (Reddit, September 2026)10
- "would really like to not pay for the remaining 11 months ... they're being horribly inflexible." (Reddit, December 2024)8
- "Agility seems to spend a lot of time/money on marketing, and less on their tool IMO." (Reddit, January 2026)11
Per search results, not checked on G2, Agility has about 4.1 out of 5 there from about 399 reviews.5 Per search results, not checked on Capterra, it has 3.3 out of 5 there from 10 reviews.6 Its Trustpilot profile is unclaimed and has no reviews.7
How to switch from Agility PR
- Find your renewal date. A customer on Reddit said Agility renews annually, and another said cancelling was easy if you let them know ahead of time.8 Notice terms sit in each contract, so check your order form.
- Export what is yours. Agility lets you import private contacts and keep lists in the platform.2 Download your own lists and coverage reports before the term ends.
- Start your Media List trial about a week before you give notice. You get 3 days and up to 25 exports to check the reporters you pitch most.
- Rebuild lists with filters. Choose a beat, an outlet, a US state and a media type such as TV, radio or podcasts. Save each as a list and export a CSV.
- If you still need monitoring, keep a monitoring tool. Media List covers the finding and pitching side.
