Agility sells a full PR suite with people to help you run it. Media List sells the contact list and the tools to pitch it, at a price you can see.
Choose Media List if
- You are a founder who wants to see the price and buy today. Agility asks you to speak to an expert first.1
- You are a solo publicist who works client by client. Monthly billing means there is no yearly invoice waiting at renewal.
- Your clients want podcast hosts and YouTube creators as well as reporters, in the same plan.
- You run a small agency and want up to 3 seats on Professional, or up to 10 seats and private-label client reports on Scale.
- You want Claude or another AI assistant to search journalist and creator contacts for you.
Choose Agility PR if
- Your agency needs monitoring across online, broadcast, podcast, print and social next to its media lists.1
- You want a dedicated account manager and help by phone, email and chat.1
- You put weight on Agility's own data claims, such as its "99.6% accurate" database.2
- Your in-house team wants AI help writing and translating pitches and press releases.1
- You pitch around the world and want 1.1M+ media contact and outlet profiles to search.1
A price on the page, or a call first
Agility's plans page splits the product into four parts. They are Social Listening, Media Intelligence, Media Monitoring and Media Relations, and each can be bought on its own or as a bundle.1 The page offers a "Speak to an Expert" button instead of a number.1
Instead, Agility frames its price against two rivals. Its comparison page says its pricing is "comparable to both Meltwater and Cision while delivering greater value through unlimited expert support".3 We do not guess at an Agility number. If you want one, ask for a written quote.
Media List shows the whole price list. Basic is $99 a month for 2,500 exports. Professional is $399 for 10,000 exports and email campaigns. Scale is $999 for 25,000 exports and private-label reports. You sign up, start the trial with a card or PayPal, and search the same day, with no demo.
Two MCP servers that do different jobs
Both companies let AI assistants such as Claude connect through MCP. The data behind each one is not the same.
Agility says its MCP Connector "links Claude and other MCP-compatible assistants directly to your Agility account".4 From there you can search coverage, check sentiment and ask for summaries in plain language.4 It is built around media coverage. Agility's API sends that same coverage data to BI tools.4
The Media List MCP server answers a different question, which is who to pitch next. Ask your assistant for food editors in Texas or true crime podcasts, and it searches the Media List contact database for you. The read-only API does the same job for your own scripts, and Zapier (beta) and the Google Sheets add-on move results where you work.
Monthly billing, and what happens at renewal
Agility says its standard billing cycle is annual, though it can accommodate other frequencies.1 It bills in US dollars, Canadian dollars and pounds.1 A customer on Reddit wrote in December 2024 that Agility autorenews annually.7
Media List plans are monthly with no annual contract, so no yearly invoice waits at renewal unless you choose the yearly plan. You cancel from your billing page, and your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. If you would rather pay once a year, the yearly plan costs 10 times the monthly price.
Creators come in every plan
Agility describes its database as "journalists, influencers, and outlets".2 Media List adds creators at scale. Every plan includes 189,000+ YouTube channels and 1.2 million podcasts, next to 31,000+ journalists, editors and producers.
That matters for launches that live on video and audio. A fintech app might pitch personal finance podcasts, money YouTubers and business reporters in the same week. In Media List, all three sit in the same database at the same price.
What a year costs for two common buyers
Agility does not publish prices, so we cannot total its side. Below is the Media List total, plus what to ask Agility so your quotes line up.
A solo publicist with one seat
- Media List Basic includes 2,500 new contacts a month. Twelve monthly payments come to $1,188.
- Paid yearly, Media List Basic is $990.
- For Agility, ask for a quote on Media Relations alone for one user. Its modules can be bought one at a time.1
- Ask whether the quote is billed once a year, since annual is its standard cycle.1
Assumptions. One person pitches by email, does not need monitoring and exports up to 2,500 new contacts a month.
A 3-person agency
- Media List Professional includes up to 3 seats, 10,000 exports and email campaigns. Twelve monthly payments come to $4,788.
- Paid yearly, Professional is $3,990.
- For Agility, ask what the quote covers for three users. Seat prices are not on its site.1
- Ask for monitoring as its own line, so you can see what the database costs alone.
Assumptions. Three people share the work and send their own pitches. If you would use Agility's monitoring and account manager every week, count that value in your comparison.
What buyers say about Agility PR
Agility has few public reviews outside G2, so these short quotes come from Reddit threads, with dates and links.
- "Their customer service is kickass too." A Reddit user, September 2026.8
- "Agility has quietly built some of them into their existing offering." A Reddit user on AI features, December 2025.9
- "we are trying to get out of the contract early as it completely flopped" A boutique agency on Reddit, December 2024.10
- "I had zero problems canceling with Agility. Let them know ahead of time" A Reddit user, December 2024.7
Agility's G2 page shows about 399 reviews with an average near 4.1 out of 5. We read that in search results and did not check it on G2.5 Agility's own comparison page quotes a G2 quality of support score of 94%.3 Capterra shows 3.3 out of 5 from 10 reviews, also per search results, not checked on Capterra.6
How to switch from Agility PR
Agility does not publish its renewal and notice rules on its website. So start with your own contract.
- Find your renewal date and notice period in your Agility contract. A Reddit customer's advice was to "Let them know ahead of time".7
- Save what is yours before the term ends. Agility lets you import private media contacts, so ask how to take those and any saved coverage reports with you.1
- Start your Media List trial when you are ready to compare. Run the searches your team uses most and check the contacts you would really pitch.
- Rebuild each list with filters. Pick a beat, add outlets or a media type such as newspapers, TV, radio, podcasts or YouTube, and narrow by US state.
- Filter to verified emails, then export a CSV or start a campaign on Professional.
- If you still want monitoring, ask Agility about keeping that module alone. It sells its modules one at a time.1
