These terms cover your use of Media List (medialist.com), including the website, the search app, exports and campaigns. By creating an account or starting a plan you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. The service
Media List is a searchable database of media contacts (journalists, editors, producers, podcast hosts and online creators) with tools to save lists, export contacts and send outreach from your own mailbox. You may use it only for legitimate press, public relations, marketing and communications outreach.
2. Plans and billing
- Plans are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly in US dollars: Basic ($99 a month), Professional ($399 a month) and Scale ($999 a month), or the yearly prices shown on the pricing page. Concierge is quoted separately.
- Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price you signed up for, until you cancel.
- Each plan includes a set number of contact exports per billing period. Unused exports do not carry over. Re-downloading contacts you already exported does not use your allowance.
- Payments are processed by Stripe or PayPal. We do not store your full card number.
- We may change prices for future billing periods. We will email you before a change affects your plan.
3. Free trial
- New accounts can start Basic, Professional or Scale with a 3-day free trial. You pay $0 when you start.
- During the trial you can search everything and export up to 25 contacts.
- If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your plan starts and your card or PayPal account is charged the plan price on day 3, then on each renewal date.
- If you cancel during the trial, the trial ends right away, your account moves to the Free plan and you are not charged.
- One free trial per account. Concierge has no free trial.
4. Cancelling
You can cancel anytime from the Billing page in your account. Cancelling stops future renewals. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. If you think you were charged in error, email support@medialist.com.
5. Bounced emails
If an email address you exported bounces, send it to support@medialist.com and we will replace that export at no cost. Contact details change as people move jobs, so we cannot promise that every contact will be current at every moment; the replacement above is our remedy when one is not.
6. Your outreach
- Campaigns send from mailboxes you connect, under your name. You are responsible for what you send and for following the email and privacy laws that apply to you, such as CAN-SPAM, GDPR and CASL.
- Every campaign email includes an unsubscribe link. People who unsubscribe will not receive further campaign email from your account.
- No spam, harassment, misleading content or unlawful use. We may pause campaigns that generate abuse complaints.
7. Using the data
Contacts you export are licensed for your own organisation's outreach. You may not resell, publish or share the data, or use it to build a competing database. Automated bulk downloading outside the app's export features is not allowed.
8. Accounts
Keep your sign-in details private. Team seats are for the people named on your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
9. Liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your plan, we will email you before it takes effect. Questions: support@medialist.com.
