Where our data comes from

Media List is a directory of professional media contacts. It exists so that people with a relevant story can reach the right journalist, producer, podcaster or creator, and so that those people receive fewer irrelevant pitches.

What we list

We list professional information only. That means a name, job title, outlet or show, beat or topic, city, and a business email address. We do not list home addresses, personal phone numbers or anything unrelated to someone's work.

Where it comes from

Our records are built from professional information that people and organizations make publicly available for press and business contact, such as outlet staff pages, bylines, author pages, show and channel pages, and business contact details that creators publish for brand and booking enquiries. Records are updated as people change roles and outlets.

How we check emails

Every email address is checked for deliverability before it can be exported, and each contact shows its status in the app. If an exported address bounces, the customer gets that export back at no cost.

How our rankings and lists work

• Newsroom pages show the staff we list for an outlet, grouped by role and desk. Names are shortened on public pages.
• YouTube rankings order channels by subscriber count and show recent activity from their public videos. Channels with no public videos are left out. Rankings are refreshed monthly.
• Podcast guest lists include active shows that feature a guest on at least 30% of recent episodes. They are refreshed monthly.

Your choices

If you are listed, you can ask us to remove or correct your details, or to stop sharing them, at any time on our opt-out page or by emailing support@medialist.com. If you ask for removal, you are hidden from our public pages and our search as soon as you ask. See our privacy policy for more.
