Established in 1958, KUT has grown to be one of the largest newsrooms in Central Texas, dedicated to delivering comprehensive local news and information with a mission to engage citizens actively. In 2013, KUT extended its reach by establishing KUTX 98.9, The Austin Music Experience. This platform has been named the Best Radio Station 10 times in the Austin Music Awards.
