WYSO, an esteemed public radio station, is an integral part of the Southwest Ohio community. Established in 1958 as a student-run station on the Antioch College campus, WYSO has grown into a community-owned, listener-supported media outlet. Broadcasting 24/7 with a potent reach of 50,000 watts, it covers fourteen counties in Southwest Ohio, touching the lives of nearly two million potential listeners.
As the only NPR News station in the Greater Dayton area, WYSO carries flagship NPR programs such as Morning Edition and All Things Considered. Moreover, the station generates over 40 hours of unique local content weekly, featuring state and local news, public affairs programming, and special news reports. WYSO's dedicated team of volunteers also produces a diverse range of local music programs, presenting handpicked music that resonates across generations.
