Tara Pixley is a photojournalist, filmmaker and visual media consultant based in Los Angeles, CA specializing in reportage, portraiture, dance and visual representations of women, people of color and the queer community. | Tara Pixley: Biography - TaraPixley.com BIO I am a visual journalist and professor based between Los Angeles and Philadelphia, with an MFA in Photography, a Ph.D. in Communication and 20+ years of experience as a photographer and photo editor. As a queer, first-generation Jamaican-American, I care deeply about the visual rhetorics of immigration/borders, Blackness, LGBTQ+ communities, diaspora, and the Global South. My visual work reframes race, gender, climate futures, LGBTQ+ and immigrant communities through a solutions lens.
