About — Karen Lindell Menu Hi! Thanks for visiting my website. I do things with words. As a journalist, editor and proofreader, I've worked for newspapers, magazines, websites, nonprofits and universities. I spent 10 years at the Ventura County Star in Southern California as an assistant editor, and before then I was a reporter and editor at L.A. Parent magazine. I’ve also written for the Los Angeles Times, Slate, the National Catholic Reporter, Culturebot and the American Library Association. My specialty is writing about the arts, culture and lifestyle, but I've covered everything from health and politics to religion and finance.
