Edwards who moved his office from downtown San Antonio to the adjacent small town of Helotes in order to have a closer relationship with his customers and the community. Several years later in 1987, in anticipation of retirement, Mr. Edwards brought in as partners, Murray Hacker, Sr. and his son, Murray (Bubba) Hacker, Jr. A couple of years later Mr. Edwards felt comfortable leaving his agency in their capable hands and following through with his retirement. Six years later in 1993, seeing an opportunity to grow, Village Insurance Agency brought in Mauer Insurance Agency along with their father/son
