I’m just keeping this personal log as its an easy way for me to record this whole new experience of EV driving in Australia. This blog doesn’t provide advice, its just a recount of what I’ve done and observed. Where statistics, such as number of sites or prices are given, the source is also given. After over 40 years of driving petrol and diesel cars and trucks, I decided to buy an electric vehicle in 2021, as I wanted first hand experience of this new vehicle technology. I didn’t want to buy an old technology combustion engine again. As of September 2026, I have been driving my electric vehicle for 5 yrs now, and covered 115,863 kms in rural, regional and city driving in NSW, Vic and Qld. A
