About Alexis I love to eat. I love to cook. I love to learn. Since 2013, I’ve journaled my day to day food adventures in my blog, A Day in the Bite. Great food and recipes have been part of my life since I was a child. I grew in Ann Arbor, Michigan around a lot of diverse cultures and chefs. My Greek American mom is a chef, and all of her foodie friends were either chefs or in the food business. My dad is from Puerto Rico and often cooked his spicy, delicious arroz con habichuelas (rice and beans) on weekends. To me cooking is not a chore; it’s exciting, fun, and therapeutic.
