The act of making is a meditation; I go to the studio to think, feel, listen, and learn. The process is intuitive and physical, not premeditated. Building and reworking layer upon layer, I respond to the marks and history already present in the paint, paper, text, and drawing tools. When these materials are brought together, their subtle energy becomes present and alive. Each piece develops through an unspoken dialogue, conversing until the energy of the materials feels settled, marked by time and handling.
