Amateur Technology

Description

I run the Experiment Foundation , which supports new ideas in science and technology. I'm also an amateur technology writer . Prior to that, I co-founded Sofar (an ocean technology company), OpenROV (an underwater drone company), and Open Explorer (now Field Notes , a community of professional and amateur explorers around the world). I've been a fellow/advisor/board member at various organizations in the past: NOAA’s Ocean Exploration Advisory Board, a TED Senior Fellow, a National Geographic Fellow, etc. Nowadays, my main extracurricular gig is serving on the board of Revive & Restore , a pioneering conservation nonprofit.
