The Museion is a contemporary wisdom school and modern mystery school, a non-dogmatic spiritual community in Zürich offering meaning retreats, pilgrimage experiences and myth-and-meaning gatherings, at the intersection of philosophy, poetics and contemplative practice. Founded by Laura Cincera. | Tracing the root This name emerged from my etymological explorations. I discovered that the root of museums is Muse — they are temples devoted to the Muses! Even music is the art led by the Muse. And this is why I love tracing back roots. They sometimes reveal what we have forgotten. And that can also inspire new possibilities — what could be again. Earlier versions of museions, such as The Museion of Alexandria, were not galleries of dead objects — they were living sanctuaries of wisdom. Spaces where a community of philosophers, poets and scientists explored together. I love this vision. And I want it back.
