Every time she needed to pick someone randomly, the same kids raised their hands. The quiet ones stayed quiet. She tried popsicle sticks – students stole their own sticks to avoid being called on. She needed something fair, visible, and impossible to manipulate. We looked at existing random pickers online. Most had annoying ads. Some lagged with large lists. None worked well on phones.
