After completing my training as a medical assistant in 2003, I began building a career in healthcare that would eventually span almost 20 years. In 2007, my husband and I left Germany to travel and spent two years living in New Zealand and Australia. While working in nursing homes, I strengthened the English skills I had already begun developing through medical English courses in Germany. After returning to Europe, we settled in Southern Germany, where I focused on my medical career and our growing family.
