Southside is a member of the Presbyterian Church in America. | Our Denomination Southside is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), a conservative, Bible believing Presbyterian denomination formed in 1973. The name Presbyterian refers to our method of leadership and structure. Derived from the Greek word presbuteros , which means “elder,” each Presbyterian church is not run by one person, but has a group of elders as their spiritual overseers. Our congregation is under the spiritual oversight and leadership of this local body of elders called the Session.
