Watch or listen to all of Faithbrook | Faithbrook’s Story Faithbrook Church looks brand new from the outside, but Faithbrook actually has a rich history going all the way back to the 1920’s. In 1929, four lay-leaders each gave $25 to obtain the property of a disorganized church off of Rice Lake Road in Maple Grove which is now Maple Knoll Cemetery. The church was officially organized as the Maple Grove Church of the Nazarene on December 8, 1929 by District Superintendent S.C. Taylor. In 1939, an eager young pastor named Ed Johnson was appointed to be the new pastor for a salary of $2.00 per week. Upon his arrival, he found a membership of 19 people and a building in disrepair.
