Ivie Ani (ee-vyay ah-nee) is an award-winning, internationally recognized journalist, writer, editor, critic, and on-air host covering culture. A Nigerian-American Bronx native and New York University alumna with a dual degree in Journalism & Africana Studies, her writing has been published in The Village Voice, NY Mag, GQ, Teen Vogue, Vanity Fair, VIBE, The Fader, NBC, PAPER, Pitchfork, Complex, and more. She is the former Editor In Chief of AMAKA, the former Okayplayer Music Editor, and has held positions at META and BET. Ivie received Harvard's 2022 Eminence Award and has spoken at Yale, NYU, Wesleyan, Fordham and Howard. She's moderated panels for Sony Music, Sephora, United Masters, Instagram, Audiomack, AFROPUNK, Afrofuture, Twitter, and has done on-air work for ABC, BBC, NPR, BET, Entertainment Tonight, SiriusXM, Genius, Hot 97, MTV, and Netflix.
