Science From the Fringe

Science From the Fringe was founded in 2024 as a collaboration between Bryce Nickels (Professor of Genetics at Rutgers University) and Jay Bhattacharya (Professor of Medicine at Stanford University). The goal was to give voice to scientific dissent and encourage rigorous, substantive debate on topics that directly impacted public health, safety, and trust. Through engaging interviews, thoughtful discussions, and in-depth analysis, Science From The Fringe worked to promote transparent, ethical, accountable science. In late 2024, Jay Bhattacharya left following his nomination as Director of the National Institutes of Health. As of September 2025, the project continues under the direction of Bryce Nickels, who remains committed to advancing its original mission and providing a space for investigating legitimate ideas rejected by the perversely-incentivized scientific establishment.
