Literature written by those who were written off. Crime & Compassion Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Norman, Oklahoma. Prison-writing programs take place at Mabel Bassett Correctional Center in McLoud, Oklahoma. From Prison Pages to Published Paperbacks — Incarcerated students are learning how to write compelling novels and short stories, and how to self-publish them. Crime & Compassion Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that inspires the incarcerated to reshape their destinies through literature. Our fiction writing programs at Mabel Bassett Correctional Center guide students through the process of writing, publishing, and retaining ownership of their novels and short stories. Through our Writers Guild Advanced and Beginners programs, our students unlock pathways for personal growth and vocational purpose. Author students also select a victim advocacy nonprofit to receive 10 percent of their novel sales. —READ BANNED PEOPLE—
