Bethan Catherine Watts (MRHistS., PhD) is a social historian, academic and author specialising in childhood and domestic history. She is a member of the Royal Historical Society, the Society for the Study of Childhood in the Past, and works for the Children’s History Society. Her research mainly focuses on the experiences of children in the English Middle Ages, but she is also deeply fascinated by historical homes, attitudes to health, medicine and hygiene, and the daily lives of past people throughout history. Bethan has published three books and numerous articles about her research, and writes the monthly magazine and blog “A History of Childhood”.
