Description
Dr. Kim TallBear is a citizen of the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate in what is today NE South Dakota. She was raised by her mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother on the Flandreau Santee Sioux reservation in SE South Dakota, and in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, all of it Dakota homelands. After ten years as a professor in the Faculty of Native Studies at the University of Alberta and Canada Research Chair in Indigenous Peoples, Technoscience, and Society, TallBear took up in Fall 2025 a position as Professor of American Indian Studies at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. This YouTube channel is in the process of being updated to feature a collection of Dr. TallBear's online and in-person recorded talks, interviews, and other media related to her work on Indigenous genomics, Science and Technology Studies (STS), and the politics of environment and sexuality.
