Welcome to Hobby Journeys. I’ve created this channel to track my son Matthew’s progress at building and painting miniatures for table top gaming and to track both of our introduction to playing the games themselves. Matthew has decided he has two ambitions in life, one is to be a youtuber. Things have definitely changed since I was young although his other ambition is to be a premier league footballer so maybe not that much. This channel is for him. The release of the magazine series Warhammer: Imperium by Hachette Partworks was a great opportunity to develop Matthew’s hobbying. Imperium is an 80 issue series of Magazines focused on the table top game Warhammer 40,000. Each comes with some miniatures or paints and a magazine containing a mix of lore, hobby guides and rules for playing the game. These build up incrementally from the very basics through to an intermediate understanding. I felt this would be a great way for Matthew to learn utilising the guides and materials.
