Hi my name is Ian, and I’m a Clinical Psychologist working in the UK. Inspired by feedback from Young Minds representatives that they don’t know what Clinical Psychologists do, I’ve created some short videos to help explain in everyday language how we contribute to mental health services. Over time I hope to cover a range of topics including: - How to become a Clinical Psychologist - Using formulations - Supervision - Therapeutic approaches e.g. CBT, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness, etc. - Relationship with Psychiatrists and other mental health colleagues - Neuropsychology - Conducting research - Client groups we work with - Confidentiality and consent - What to expect in your first session - Ending therapy If you would like me to cover specific topics then please let me know in the comments section.
