Hey, I'm Simon 👋 IT guy who gets excited about tech when it actually makes everyday life easier! It all started in 2015 with a Raspberry Pi. Went so-so: voice announcements at 2 a.m. & my wife showering in the dark because an automation was acting up 😅 When I looked for help, there were two kinds of videos: 40 minutes of rambling for 5 minutes of content - or so shallow that I was none the wiser afterwards. At some point I figured: there has to be a better way! Smart home should work for everyone - not just people who write YAML for fun. And it should take work off your plate, not become a second job. That's why this channel has existed since 2022: Home Assistant, smart home & AI, straight to the point. With solutions that run in my own home. I got so hooked that I quit my job in 2025.
