They have been together since January 2011 and have been performing in local gigs since summer 2011 supporting acts such as We Are Knuckle Dragger, The Last Republic and Cut Ribbons. The band took a breather towards the beginning of 2012 looking to go in a slightly new direction bringing in a keyboard/synthesizer player. The Droids music has been described in a Welsh magazine as poppy post hard-core but since then they have been able to add an element of electronic and heavier riffs.
