Spirituality and the Arts Special Interest Group

Description

SASIG is an initiative born under the International Network for the Studies of Spirituality (INSS) in 2022. This group aims at exploring a variety of relationships between the arts and spirituality as in recent years we have seen a growing interest about their intersection. This SIG will meet every other month to discuss this intersection in a variety of forms and mediums such as visual art, music, film, dance, digital, interactive, poetry, time-based and performative art forms. This will include the personal, social and cultural, encompassing both the religious and the spiritual-but-not-religious context. Our approach aims to be interdisciplinary and inclusive. Our inaugural meeting was held on March 16th, 2022 (no recording is available).
