Description

Neurorobotics is a novel science that combines neuroscience and robotics. One important object of investigation is the embodiment of neural systems (e.g. brain-inspired algorithms and computational models of biological neural networks) as controllers for robotic devices. The HBP Neurorobotics Platform (NRP) is an internet accessible platform to simulate robots and connect them to spiking neural network models. The NRP is one of six research platformed developed by the EU Flagship Human Brain Project (HBP). The robot simulation is using the Gazebo simulator. Spiking neural networks are simulated using the Neural Simulation Tool NEST.
