About | First Baptist Church Garland, TX About Who We Are First Baptist Church began in 1868 as Antioch Baptist Church. Though our faces and buildings have changed since those early days, First Baptist's mission to reach the community for Christ has not. We believe the Bible to be our manual, and Christ to be our example. Each Sunday we worship in Traditional, Contemporary/Blended styles (as well as in a Spanish-language service). Our Saturday service is a Blended worship style and meets at 5:30 p.m. We offer varied Bible Study classes on both Saturday and Sunday that are designed for all ages and interests.
