Description
The Human Islet Research Network (HIRN) is a NIH NIDDK funded research network to support and organize translational diabetes research. To mission of the network is to better understand how beta cells are lost in Type 1 Diabetes, and find innovative strategies to protect or replace functional beta-cell mass in diabetic patients.
