Description
Animations for Physics and Astronomy Animations for Physics and Astronomy is an educational media project based at Penn State Schuylkill that has been creating instructional physics and astronomy animations since 2000. Since the launch of this YouTube channel in 2006, the collection has grown to more than 240 videos designed to support teaching, learning, and public outreach. These short 3D animations help viewers visualize concepts that are difficult to convey with static images, particularly topics involving motion, spatial relationships, and three-dimensional geometry. Recent productions include extensive accessibility features, including curated closed captions, a complete descriptive audio track that explains both the visual content and underlying physics, and accessible HTML alternatives designed for screen readers and other assistive technologies. Animations are created using the open-source tools POV-Ray, Audacity, and FFmpeg.
