About — Shobita Parthasarathy 0 About Shobita Shobita Parthasarathy (SHOW-bih-tha Partha-Sarathee) is Professor of Public Policy and Women's and Gender Studies, and co-founder and director of the Science, Technology, and Public Policy Program at University of Michigan . She is incoming President-Elect of the Society for the Social Studies of Science . Her award-winning research has had significant public and policy impact, including on AMP v. Myriad , the 2013 US Supreme Court decision that prohibited patents on human genes. From 2025-2027, she is an Expert Voices columnist for Science magazine.
