DeVries immigrated to the USA in 1983 with $160.- in his pocket. Started working at Sun Valley in 1984, first as Lily grower than operation manager to general manger and in 1991 bought the company together with two partners from Holland. Married with wife Kathryn for 31 years, and blessed with two adopted children Tony (23) and Sarah (21).
