Description

The Homewood-Flossmoor Chronicle, a hyperlocal newspaper, serves the vibrant and diverse communities of Homewood and Flossmoor in south suburban Cook County, Illinois. With a mission to chronicle the life of these affluent communities, the Chronicle provides comprehensive coverage of local events, issues, and people, delivering approximately 1,200 stories annually.

Starting with the local government and spanning three school districts, the Chronicle facilitates a deeper understanding of the region's business and economic developments, community issues, and local history. The newspaper's dedicated team, comprising three editors, nine independent journalists, a graphic designer, a sales consultant, and a news clerk, ensures the delivery of quality journalism to its readers.

Founded by veteran journalist Eric Crump, the Chronicle was born out of a need to provide a thriving community with its own news organization. Over the years, it has carved a unique space in the industry by focusing on hyperlocal news, setting it apart from other news outlets. It is primarily supported by advertising revenues, supplemented by a growing reader base.

With the recent addition of former Chicago Tribune editor Randall Weissman to the editing team, the Chronicle continues to uphold its commitment to community-focused reporting, thereby reinforcing its position as a trusted local news source.
