The story behind the name Rouxbe was founded in 2005 with a simple goal: capture the curriculum of a professional culinary school in high-definition video. The company started as "Ruby", a touch-screen kitchen device that predated the iPad. When the hardware concept didn't win over investors, the team pivoted to premium online content.
