our story — Richmond Baptist Church Menu Our Story Richmond was planted in 1894 when a small and courageous group started meeting in a home in the neighbourhood. In 1895 the first part of our old facility at 141 Richmond Road was built and became the new shared home for the young church. Over the next 130 years, our church family grew, explored more about what it means to follow King Jesus and how to connect with, serve and love our local neighbourhood. As is true with many churches, we had times of celebration and sadness, growth and challenge, encouragement and discouragement. Through it all, we have continually come back to listening to what King Jesus is saying and respond to that.
